Just picked up a 700 AAC. Im more of a hunter than a target shooter. Any recommendations for a hunting ammo with the 1 in 10? From what I have seen online it looks like 165 gr and up are recommended.

So I'm guessing it's the .308 version and not the .300 BLK rifle. Anyway any bullet 125 grain hunting bullet and up will work for deer and 150-165 grain for elk if you use a solid copper bullet from Barnes, Nosler, & Hornady. Anything over 165 grains in weight just stick to regular bullets for game larger than deer. My daughter smokes white tail with the 125 grain Nosler Ballistic Tips at over 3000 fps from her .300 Savage, and I'd not be afraid of it in a .308 Win.

Yes, sorry, its the 308. Ive plenty of 150-165 range. Wasnt sure how it would do with the 1-10. Most of the online reviews of it said to use larger gr bullets as it preferred them being longer.

1:10 twist will run pretty much any bullet from 110-200+ grains, just find what shoots the best out of your rifle. No need to punish your shoulder shooting heavy grain bullets if 150-165 grains group just as well. You have the standard .308 caliber twist rate found in most rifles, though you do find a 1:11 twist .308 from time to time.

Any common 150-grain bullet that groups nicely will work just fine. Always has for my family's hunters. :)

I've loaded bunches of .30 bullets from 110 to 180. All were sub-MOA for five shots with a 1:10.

Thanks. Will get out my variety box of 308 and get some bench time in. :)
