I have a reproduction Wesson rifle that i've just purchased and looking to see if anyone can tell me something about it.
It's a .50, 28" heavy barrel, side hammer, engraved, false muzzle. Says "Palmetto, Brescia Italy" on the barrel.
Any info appreciated.

Howdy Will,

I've heard that Navy Arms at one time imported replicas of the Wesson rifle, so that's probably what you have. Sorry, I don't have any more info than that.

This sounds like the old H&R version of the Officers Buffalo Rifle. The design was purchased by an Italian Company and sold through Navy Arms. Several over at the http://www.sassnet.com sight have them and like them real well.

I currently own a genuine, not a reproduction, Wesson that I am interested in finding a value and a buyer for. It is missing the side plate, hammer and forend stock. Triggers, springs, stock with silver butt plate and silver patch box all in tact and in good shape. Any thoughts Ideas or prices would be much appreciated.
thanks
