If the price between the two didn't make a difference which one would you chose please.
Dan Wesson ECO 9mm

Dan Wesson by a long, long, LONG shot.

I'm not sure if folks know or not but the EMP is a scaled-down 1911 -- not a 1911 and doesn't share parts. Like a Colt Mustang, it simply LOOKS like a 1911. The Dan Wesson is a 1911. A smallish one.

I have two different range buddies and each has one -- I prefer the ECO, but I'm not exactly a huge fan of either, really.

I'd pick the DW because of an expectation of higher quality. But, wasn't SA's purpose of scaling a 1911 down to 9 Luger size in the EMP to get enhanced reliability over compact 1911s in that caliber? Not knowing whether the EMP accomplished that goal, I'll choose the DW unless I learn otherwise.

I'm a Dan Wesson guy, I love my CBOB, but how could you go wrong with either?

+1 Springfield EMP 9mm

Not sure of DWs warranty service (could someone chime in?), but Springfield is pretty top notch in this regard.

Have to go with the DW. The quality, IMO, is better.

Dan Wesson produces extremely nice nice guns for their price point. Their warranty service is exceptional. Quality is very good, close to custom. Won't go wrong with one.

Dan Wesson is a name that inspires confidence. Springfield inspires me to ask if it's really the same price, and if it's not whether you can afford the Dan Wesson.

Nice, congrats, let us know if it lives up to the hype!

Dan Wesson seems to have a mission ideology that is opposite that of most manufacturers in America today. Most companies follow the planned obsolescence ideas, squirting plastic or aluminum or even zinc alloy into a mold and trying to convince the foolish buying public that they are buying better quality when really the quality is awful.

DW seems to understand that it's less important to make large amounts of money at the expense of quality. The fit and finish of Dan Wesson products is outstanding.

It may e obvious that I've become a fan of DW guns.
