I HAVE SHOT ONE AND IT WAS FUN TO SHOT IF YOU HAVE ONE YOU SOULD THINK ABOUT DOING THE SAME THING........

They'll take you alive after they shoot you and your friend, kill your dog, your son, and your wife while she holds your daughter, and then give a medal to everybody involved. Oh, we're talking Full-Auto, not Short Barreled Shotguns. Wonder what they do for that? OHHHHHhhhhh, I remember. They'll shoot you, your wives, dozens of your friends, tear gas children, smash your house with a tank while you are inside, and then burn everything and everybody to cover the evidence.

If you want to try full auto, either go to a rental range that lets you try machineguns, take a machinegun course, find someone who will let you try theirs, or save up a thousand bucks and buy a machinegun legitimately (if permitted in your state).

DO NOT MAKE YOUR OWN. Especially after announcing on a public forum - undoubtedly monitored by the BATF/FBI - that you plan to do so illegally.

Illegally converting your gun to full auto is precisely the type of thing that makes gun owners look bad. Especially those of us who own assualt weapons. I agree you should go somewhere and legally fire a full auto.

Firearms with full auto features generally have an auto sear which is tripped when the action is safe to fire. That is, some sort of lockup is accomplished by the bolt. This ensures that the firearm is safe and that the shooter goes home with the same number of digits and eyeballs as at the start of the day. Home gun plumbing a semi into full auto is not only illegal, unless done for the military, police or export - all of which is preapproved by the BATF - but requires a high level of expertise, experience and craftsmanship. It is not a task to be undertaken by novices.
