I don't know if this should go in this forum, gunsmithing, or handloading, but since it goes well in all three I'll try it here. I have a Beretta 96 for the moment, and had heard that one shouldn't shoot cast bullets through it. Can anyone confirm this for me? My gunsmith swore by cast bullets in all the guns he owns, and I generally like the price I can get on them. He wasn't up to snuff on Beretta's so maybe one of you who actually has a owner's manual can let me know if it is a no-no.

I've been shooting 180gr cast on 4.7gr of Universal out of my Beretta 96 Elite with no problems at all. Where you want to avoid cast bullets is guns with polygonal rifling like the Glock.

Thanks. This will make my shooting much cheaper.
