Other than gunsmithing the triggers or replacing them, the Savage 110 series has an excellent reputation. That's both here and over at Varminter.com.

I had a Savage 110 chambered in .22-250 and I have to say it was a very accurate rifle out of the box. While it doesn't have quality and the feel of a Remington, it costs less and will shoot nicely.

If you had them side by side, and you worked the bolt of the Savage and then the Remington, you would see what I mean by the difference in quality. I just prefer a firearm that has a nice, robust, quality feel to it IMHO.

There is the possibility (emphasis on the word possibility) that Savage rifles might have the greatest "out-of-box" accuracy.
