took my RO to the range for a quick session. A very sweet shooter so far. No issues at all with wally world ball ammo. I already had night sights installed and Cerakoted Titanium Blue and Amour Black. Swapped the grip I got from ebay, I think he was 1911gripguy.

Next up is my Tararus PT 1911

Here is a quick pic of my PT1911 with the newly installed Black Mountain grips. I was surprised on how comfortable they are and the grip from the cuts in the aluminum. Waiting for the new GI guide to replace the FLGR and a new closed SS plug. I'm also getting rid of the ambi safety. So far I just have about 150 rounds down the pipe with no issues. I tried about 5 different brand magazines from 7-8 round capacity also no issues.

I'm always happy to see a nice "pair" of guns. I think that RO looks better with the new finish job you had put on it. How is that PT working out for you? Any problems with it or malfunctions?

Thanks Constantine,
Hey smee79, So far I just have about 150 rounds down the pipe with no issues. I tried about 5 different brand magazines from 7-8 round capacity also no issues. I just installed my Wilson Combat GI guide rod and SS closed plug too. I'm going to the range after work to run more rds thru her. I'll keep you posted.

Cheers
Ron

Well I got her to the range today. I again went thru 7 magazine (four 7 rounders and three 8 round mags) repeated it 3 times. No hiccup or issues. My grouping is not as tight as my other 1911's. But I think if I shoot more it might get tighter. That being said the trigger is a lot heavier than lets say my SA RO 1911. I might get a trigger job down the road. All shots 25yds

Nice Springfield, paint job is awesome! Taurus wouldnt have been my first choice but if you like it thats all that matters. Most Taurus bashing comes from people who have never owned or shot one.

Are the new RO sights still adjustable?

Hello all, Yes the RO does come from the factory with adjustable sights. But since I'm carrying her, I decided to change them out. Dawson up front and Harrison Design at the rear.

I like that RO. The only reason I haven't picked up an RO is because I don't want the adjustable sights.

Interesting. I may have to keep an eye out... later. I've got some other projects in the works right now.

Uncle Malice, if you find one used like I did, and swap them out I honestly don't think you can go wrong. This is the most accurate 1911 I have ever owned. And so far no hiccups. Oh I did replace the firing pin and spring with a oversize EGW one. No issues at all.
