I recently bought a new G-20sf and was wondering what aftermarket weight should I put in if I wanted to shoot full power Underwwod. Rounds should I go with 19#222# or 24# I would keep the factory. RSA! For weaker loads an y input would.be greatly appreciated along with a brief explanation.

I really wish full-power 10mm was more popular and cheaper :(

Definitely buy at least Wolff 20 and 22# springs. You'll spend way more on the ammo anyway. "Underpowered" loads like BVAC, PPU, you'll be fine with the factory spring. But see what works for you and please post your results here!

Found some Winchester 175 gr silvertips for 12.50 a box and bought 2 boxes and HPR 200 gr.Jhp. 50. Rounds for 35.00 $ and Underwood is pretty reasonable except for shipping.

Sorry, I think I added to my last post before you read it. But please do post your results on cycling with different springs/ammo. I'm not (yet) courageous enough to load my own 10mm :)

I've owned a 3rd gen G20 for about 13yrs. First thing I did was put in a Wolff steel guide rod and heavier recoil spring--*think* it was a 20#. Helped mitigate heavy recoil forces a lot. IMO, this model Glock is way under sprung.

So you feel I should get a.#20. Over a 22#?

Try both and see which you prefer or functions best. I use 22# Wolff, and it cycles fine with all my 10mm ammo, and the .40 in a conversion barrel, as well.

Anyone know if someone makes an heavier spring assembly for the Gen 4 G20 Yet? :(

The delicate thing about spring power is to remember that any extra power spring is not just dampening recoil force, but it is later driving the slide back into battery at a higher velocity. This sometimes causes excessive wear in THAT direction on some guns. CZ's, for instance, experience occasionally cracked slide stops. Not sure what ill effects heavy springs might cause on Glocks.

What is the need for a heavier spring?
I've been running a gen 3 G20 for years, what would happen better if I put in a heavy spring?
BTW - what weight is the stock spring?

I use 24lb springs, they work fine. I mainly use them in the .45 Super, but 10mm handles it just fine. I have a Gen4 20 (and 21) so you can just the little ring adapter that lets you use gen3 guide rods in gen4 models...works great.

I was shooting the 20 today with some hot handloads and the stock RSA handled it perfectly.

I use a Wolff guiderod, 20lb spring for most loads including SD rounds, 24lb for my handloads.
