Best .22 for TINY hands

My wife is almost five feet tall, and has the hands to match. My question is, what are you all using to teach your small shooters how to shoot? I own a Colt challenger, but it is proving stubborn to repair. Any suggestion would be helpful. Otherwise I will have to continue teaching her with a .38 as her first gun and I think we all know what it's like to find .38 shells these days.

The Beretta NEOS has a small person friendly grip size and is a bargain to boot. Walther P22 or the Ruger SR22 may also be as small as they come.

Browning makes a 1911-22 that is 80%(?) of the fullsize 1911, that would be great for smaller hands. I have one and its been the only .22 I've owned to have no malfunctions with any type of ammo I put through it. The biggest drawback to this gun is the price tag however, if you aren't on a budget I would suggest giving it a look.

Do you want to use the gun for a CCW? If not most 22s are pretty small and the Buck Mark is an excellent choice. If you do want to use it for defense then the Ruger SR22 is very reliable, comes with 2 mags and has 2 different grips for hand sizes. Coupled with a good high velocity ammo, I recommend aquila with the elay primers, it is a very controllable and reliable gun.

+1 Beretta Neos. Mine has been the first lesson pistol for several young women (friends of my daughters), and all find the grip to be small enough and comfortable. It is also quite accurate and easy to shoot, which gives new shooters an encouraging taste of success. You will also find it easy to strip for cleaning.

NAA Mini Revolver :D. Sorry couldn't resist. In all seriousness my wife is of similar size (5'1") and a ruger mkIII 22/45 is what she learned on. It may work for you, or may not. Take her to a gun shop and let her pick one out

The small Browning 1911 in 22LR is very attractive, but a bit on the pricey side. It also comes in two barrel lengths.

My wife also has very small hands. She does pretty well with a Smith and Wesson M&P 22.

Any of the aforementioned will do the job just fine. For small hands I would just avoid the larger framed revolvers that chamber .22lr which although have Zero recoil are somewhat difficult to firmly grip with smaller hands.

Let her try out a Walther P22. The gun is very small and grip is thin. Great gun to start women and children out on.

My daughter is very petite with small hands. She has a SR22 and shoots it really well.

I found a Beretta mod 71 Jaguar .22lr pistol a few years back and am very impressed with it.

It's a very petite 9 shot combat pistol that has proven absolutly reliable.

I've even read they were used by some military special forces.

They're no longer made but well worth the effort to track one down.

The little Browning 1911-22 is a great little gun as other have stated. If price is an issue the Walther P22 is a nice small .22lr. Not the quality of the Browning buy mine has lots of rounds through it without any issues.

Phoenix Arms HP-22 is also a small option. I loved mine from way back, although they aren't the highest regarded pistol, mine was excellent. And they aren't expensive, around $130 or so.
