I am trying to locate a NIB Remington 700 VS in .308 and .223. My local dealer is having trouble locating the .308 in stock with his suppliers. Does anyone know where to track one down? Thanks.

I believe Ultimate Outdoors had them in stock last time I checked (903) 687-2498

Try Franklin's of Athens, in Athens, GA. (Actually, it's in Bogart) and Barrow's, in Butler, GA.

IIRC, Remington discontinued the 700VS in .308 for a short period of time. When I bought mine, the guy said it was the last one they had in stock, and they wern't expecting any more to come in. The current Remington catalog at the time also didn't have a .308 VS. I'm not positive, but I think Remington regained their wits and started making .308 VSs again.

(BTW, I bought mine the Summer of '99)
