got my new remington about a month ago now.....have about 600 rounds down range with zero problems, i am pleased with the finish for a 650.00 1911. slide to frame fit is great with so side to side movement and its a great shoot to boot....heres a couple pics, I added a wilson extended ambi safety and wilson extended slide stop, extended mag release (not pictured) so i could manipulate the platform left handed completely....put on some VZ operator grips and have some trajicons ready to go on and ill be done....maybe a trigger lol , but the stock one is pretty nice http://i1238.photobucket.com/albums/ff485/nickharp1/DSC_0847_zpsa7e1aa43.jpg

i really like all of the wilson extended stops and safety's, just gives a little more surface to work with, and with the slide stop i am able to operate it with my left index finger, a right handed person could use their thumb.. had my buddy install the parts just cause hes a gunsmith, but he said they required very minor fitting

I have installed the extended slide stop with no problems and have really enjoyed it.

Very nice! Did the Wilson slide stop and safety just drop in, or did you have to do some machining? I know many of the aftermarket 1911 parts say "minor fitting required", but I don't know if that's *always* the case, or they're just adding that caveat to warn you that they might not always just "drop in".

My R1 is about to go back to the factory for some feeding issues, but if all is well when it return, I'll be treating it to some WC parts as well.

Nice rig! The grips and few Wilson parts on there really dress up the base-model R1.

I picked up a1911 R1 Stainless a couple months ago and am thoroughly impressed. Just something about that matte stainless finish makes me happy. It shoots great and I honestly do not think I could have done better in the $650 price range. All I need to do mine is install a beavertail as I do have a nice little knick on my hand from hammer bite.
