What was done to make it cycle the subsonic stuff? I know a guy who suppressed his 7.62x39 WASR and nothing he did made it work well with subsonic ammo. He even tried 220 RN. Everything was inaccurate, the RN fed poorly and cutting down the spring did not ensure extraction. He said the worst part was that it was still loud.

Lark, I have heard the same story from others.

All I did was have it checked to make sure the barrel threading was concentric to the bore.
Once that was confirmed, I installed the DC Vortex and went shooting. I guess I got lucky right out of the box.

Interesting; maybe there isn't enough back-pressure in most wipeless designs to fully cycle? The stock PBS for the AKM uses fore and aft rubber wipes, and is intended to be used with the issue "US" reduced-velocity round; 193 grain FMJ at around 970 fps, with no other changes that I'm aware of, since the rifle is expected to be able to switch back and forth among all issue ammo.
