I carried mine for a year, and had around 1k rounds through it. It was a great little gun IMO. Very light, thin and was reliable. I trusted it with my life for a year, so I hope that answers that.

It will take you some time to get proficient with it. It's inherently a difficult gun to shoot due to its small size and weight. I could hold index card sized groups out to 15 meters.

I do have two gripes about it. Finding spare mags can be a bit of a pain. They're manufactured either by Mec Gar or ACT, I don't recall which at the moment. The second gripe would be that after 1k rounds the bottom of my feed ramp started to deform a bit from the rounds hitting it as they angled up into the chamber. I'll throw in a pic of it. I called up Diamondback, and talked to Scott Perin. He was extremely pleasant on the phone and shipped me a new barrel very quickly, free of charge.

mine lasted one, yes ONE, shot before blowing up on the 2nd shot. brand spanking new and it went kaboom in my hand. the RT side of the frame just below the slide and to the rear splintered and left hanging out what looked like a paper clip. the first shot was stout but I expected that. the 2nd shot stung like crazy and heat hit my face. I knew something was up. I returned it to D'back in FL and they said that they either replace the frame or send back a new one.

I spoke to the gun store owner about it and he said to bring it to him when I get it back and he'd give back my money. I asked if he'd consider getting in a Kahr CM9 and doing a decent trade for me since I couldn't carry the DB with confidence. I know that the chances of two blowing up on me are slim, but......He said he'd swap the DB for a new CM straight up. Customer Svc doesn't get any better than that. If you're on the south side of Atlanta, the store is B&D Mercantile in Senoia and the owner's name is Tom. Their # is (770) 727-9075. Go see 'em.

Carry is awesome.

Function for about 600 rounds so far, 100%.

It is not a range toy or a beginners firearm...you must apply all fundamentals of marksmanship at the highest level, especially regarding proper grip.

I was surprised at how well it handles and the recoil is, to me, very soft and not sharp at all.
