Does anyone think this should be made into a sticky?

Not good. Lets hope that recall does not knock anyone out of this years deer season. Better safe than sorry, bring out the back up rifle.

Just to be on the safe side, I checked on my S2 with chromoly barrel and it is not subject to the recall. Life is good.

interesting that a recall was issued over a loose barrel hunt....couldn't you just tell everybody to check theirs and make sure they are tight?

I am a little confused. I own three Vanguards and mine do not have anything I can indentify as a barrel nut.

I don't think its truly a barrel nut as much as verifying that the barrel was torqued in correctly.

I didn't see this one but posted one about Howa's as well (same thing really).

They can't ask people to check it themselves because most won't know how and tightening that nut requires a gunsmithing qualification (legally speaking anyway)

It's more about checking torque then any actual problem with components.
