I'm putting a new 50mm objective lens scope on my Remington 700 Adl. I had to take the rear sight off and I tried to get the front sight off also. The rear sight was easy. The front sight has only one visable screw and it won't come off when I take that screw out. Is there another screw under the front sight blade? Do I have to drift the front sight blade out?

You have to drift out the front sight to get to the other screw. Would suggest you leave it in there.

I got the front sight off my ADL with a drift, but found no screw under it. Gun was bought new in 1963, is it likely that the ramp is soldered {sp} on? Mick.

Yup, on a rifle from that vintage, they brazed that sight on.Afraid you'll have to leave it there or take a chance heating it up to remove the braze. I'd leave it if I were you.
