do you practice with steel case or brass ammo in the glock 19?

i already put 1,500 rounds of steel case through my glock 19 and had no problems. am i asking for trouble? has someone's g19 actually broke cause of steel case ammo?

You can use whatever you want. Brass you have to pay alittle extra for but is softer and easier on your gun. Steel is cheaper up front but is very hard on you gun and keep shooting them only to wear your gun out. But I guess you saved money up front and may can buy you a new one after you wore your first one out with steel, if you still have your money put away someplace.

I shoot a mix of both brass and steel I'd say the plit is about 60/40 favoring steel.

Is there any actual evidence that steel case ammo wrecks a gun? You always hear about "my buddie's friend" but I've never seen a warning from a manufacturer or a real study of the matter. Not trying to start a fight just genuinely curious.

Not that I've seen and I've shot thousands of rounds of steel ammo through my guns. The only thing people say can happen is extractor damage. Even if true, a Glock extractor costs about $15 and an AR extractor is relatively the same price. You'll save that much in a couple hundred rounds...

Glocks will eat anything you feed them, except - DO NOT USE HANDLOADS, you are just asking for problems.

I use steel case in my Glocks, both 9mm and .45ACP.

No issues, just dirty ammo.

If my RTF 17 ever tasted brass cased ammo it would probably puke. 10,000 + rounds of Brown Bear with no negative effects. For range ammo I can't see spending the money for brass cased. Don't mine buying premium for self defense but not practice and Glock's could care less.

Glock's barrels should come with REQUIREMENT to use steel cases only.:p There is no reason to not use handloads in a Glock. (just no stupid handloads)
