Can someone tell me what the heck this guy is talking about ? How do you print a gun ?

Another funny thing about gun control advocates, firearms aren't the only things they don't understand. 3D printers are extremely cool, but as for now (and for a while, I'm assuming) a 3D printer is only able to create objects using polymer-based materials with a binder. They are typically for prototyping, or if a component does not require a lot of strength, but needs to be intricate. I could print a nuclear bomb, but that doesn't mean it will work :rolleyes:. That AR15 receiver he printed (in my mind) would be very dangerous to fire.

Another thing people don't understand is- if you can operate a 3D printer, you most likely have a CNC mill that you could *actually* make said components with. Apparently owning a 3D printer makes you evil as well.

...and the printers they said are $500, are actually kits. Let's just say the average joe cannot assemble a WORKING 3D printer, be completely proficient with SolidWorks, and have intricate knowledge of firearms design. It's a pandemic, I tell you! /sarcasm

Thanks, the guy who wrote the blog wasn't very informative about the actual mechanics of the production. Your link sums it up nicely for me.
