I am looking at a Springfield Armory Loaded 1911 .45 acp with 4 Mec Gar mags. It is the Stainless and black. $500.00 - $550.00. He wants $550.00 I am trying to see if he will take $500.00 is that run of the mill, good deal, great deal, terrible deal? It is in pretty good condition it has one spoy of wear about the size of a pencil eraser on one side. I have alist of pistols in the general discussion board that I think are good deals but this one has my attention the most. Thanks in advance.

If the gun is in good shape, that is a very good deal for a Loaded. I would just make sure that it has not been subject to some kitchen gunsmithing. Also look the slide over carefully for any very small cracks, especially around the area of the slide stop.

I wasnt aware that slide cracks are a huge worrisome issue, but a look around in googleland may suggest that an eye be kept on such issues. However, it does seem to have a common connection with repetitive releasing of the slide on an empty chamber. I'm only 43 and have yet to see or experience a modern slide crack.

I'd say that price range is good even if only the slide, frame, and barrel are still in top notch condition mechanically. All the guts are minor issues really as long as the original owner hasn't demonstrated a shady youtube education on it.

Loaded's were going new for $700 and up several years ago. Mec-Gar is a quality brand, the "factory" brand actually for a number of gun manufacturers, including Ruger and I think Beretta. Springfield is considered among the better 1911 brands, certainly for value.

Only you can judge the condition, we can't see it, maybe find some 1911 condition checklists and follow those.

But assuming good condition, I would buy that in a heartbeat.

I paid $700 for my loaded and thought that was a good price!

Roger that he said he would take $500.00 so as soon as I get it from him I will have a Para G.I. Expert for sale. I didnt know it was that good of a price. Either way thanks for the heads up and comments. To be exact it is a Springfield Armory Loaded 1911A1 Black Stainless Combat. If that makes any kind of difference.

I don't think that it is a bad price but I would stick to the $500 mark not $550
