1941 German p08 Slide stuck open

Ok I have my buddies p08 it's slide is stuck in open position after he cleaned it how do i get it unstuck the best way?
I thought it would be a simple fix but it has moved beyond me.:mad::mad:

You are talking Luger, right? Perhaps just removing the magazine, and then grabbing the toggle and retracting it back just a little bit more. It should release. Got a picture?
