.45 ACP is a rimless cartridge,,,
Once the loops stretch even a little bit,,,
You will find that the bullets will fall through the loops.

I know because I've tried to make loops for rimless cartridges,,,
They will work well while they are newly stitched,,,
But as soon as they "break in" they get loose.

Thought the Remington guns only came in .44 cap and ball and .45 Colt.

I suspect a typo. When you go to Buffalo Arm's referenced cowboy ammo section, there are no listings for .45 ACP, contrary to what they would have you believe. Cowboy ammo in .45 Colt is common; but, I've not heard of cowboy loads in .45 ACP. The .45 Colt started as a black powder cartridge, the .45 ACP originated as a smokeless load.

If the cylinder was made to accommodate .45 ACP, one would expect to see it cut to accept moon clips as is done in other .45 ACP revolvers.

They do make them for .45 ACP. They head space on the case mouth. Kirst lists them also. http://www.kirstkonverter.com/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=2&cat=1858+Remington+Konverters

I think this will be pretty cool with a Uberti carbine. Might just be my next gun.
