I went in my local gunshop to look at 45acp pistols. Guess what he had just got in earlier that morning RUGER 1911. I have been looking for one just cannot find them. He let me put it on layaway for $639 plus tax. I am anxious to say the least. I will let you know when I try it out.

Congrats roc1, They must be breaking loose for those who want one. I was in my LGS last Monday picking up my Sig 220ST, and they had SR1911 in the glass case.

They did let me play with it while I waited. It is a very pretty gun, but I did not like the feel or how it fit my hand as well as that of my Rem 1. Although, I know the SR is getting a lot of rave reviews. More so than any other 1911 I know of out there right now.

Hope you love it.

I will enjoy reading your comparison of the two. First, let us know how you enjoy shooting the new SR. :)

I have yet to see one... and I check every time I visit any of the local stores. As soon as I see one, I'm buying it right then and there!

^^^^^I feel the same way^^^^^

It has not made it to my neck of the woods yet.:(
But if I see one, unless it totally does not fit my hands, it's coming home with me. I'll have to buy flowers and chocolate along with it to appease the boss. :D

They should be getting close since the one I handled Monday was in Montgomery, AL.

If it's the one on Mulberry, it's in my safe now.

I've been on a waiting list with them since May of last year. They said they would sell them for $599 when they got them.
So much for their waiting list!
