I have a S&W Sport. Not sure if it's considered 'commercial' or 'milspec', but at some point I'd like to get a 45 upper for it just for fun.

Also, would this be a blowback or gas operated? I'd be using LRN through it for cost savings.

Anybody have luck with these uppers?

if it operates anything like the 9mm conversions then it will become a blowback system. some things you may also need to take into account

magazine well block
heavier buffer
stronger buffer spring and of course
magazines may be required to make the conversion work. switching from a rifle to a pistol cartidge isn't quite as simple as switching from rifle to rifle.

The only .45ACP upper I am aware of is from Olympic. It appears that they have magazines that don't require a mag block, but I don't know if they need a special hammer like the 9mm conversions do.
