So,after a few years of not shooting or reloading, finally getting back into it..

I would like to get a small spotting scope instead of lugging my big monster around...I would like to have one that I will be able to see bullet holes at least to 3oo yards..22 cal size...Maybe this is too much to ask for..But what the heck....I would like one that I can put into my range box if possible...This is nothing more than an old open top wood tool box....So I am open to ideas or suggestions....John

When I was shopping for a spotting scope, I used this guide at Optics Planet (http://www.opticsplanet.net/spotting-scopes-for-target-shooting.html).

The 300 yard requirement is going to require pretty decent glass and probably a 80mm objective. A "compact" spotting scope is probably not going to reach that far on a consistent basis.

This is the Optics Planet spotting scope forum (http://www.opticsplanet.com/msgboard/forum-3.html?sid=02675147e9ba58897200ee620dae6cd2); you may be able to find some suggestions for your specific needs there.
