What would be the approximate value of an all matching numbers, excellent condition, early 1980s, non-import marked CZ75 pre-B with two original factory mags and original waffle grips but no factory box. If it matters mags are numbered but the numbers don't match the CZ.

Another board member found one for about $400.

I read a little 3-4 full page article about some history on CZ from WWII to current times.

Not to get to deep, but it was talking about the CZ75s that came in under Soviet rule I think. They really commanded a premium like around $500 in the early 80s. That's it.

As you describe the pistol, I would not go over $400. The preBs are terrific pistols though.

CZs commanded a premium of $500 OVER the a regular price of $400 - $500, in the 80s.

They could only get into the country through Canada, or through Base Exchanges in Germany. Lots of semi-custom 75s floating around that were originally purchased by US servicemen.

There are downsides to owning a pre-B CZ-75, but if you find one in choice shape, $400 - $450 seems reasonable, which is about what you'd pay for a nice, used 75B.

(I responded to this on another forum and won't repeat the details about the downsides, here.)

Thanks for the great info. The price was high on the one I was considering. I'll keep a look out for a better deal.
