My lgs has the mounts for $47 and a discontinued Nikon Monarch 3-9x40 w/ BDC for $259. Is this a good deal?

I like the Game Reaper mount. Nothing to line up, no lapping needed, just level. I installed it on my BP rifle and was on paper without bore sighting.

Sounds like a good deal.

Another happy DNZ owner. It's a solid, well made mount.

Sounds fair to me . Those Monarchs are nice scopes , and the DNZ mount is a rock !

DNZ is good stuff. $47 seems like a little better than average, but has been a while since I bought one. That is a good price on the Monarch. One of the better scopes.

Ok, so what do you guys think I can get out of a NIB Redfield Revolution 3-9x40 scope along with a set of NIP Leupold STD low rings and STD bases?

Trade them towards the Monarch ! Or $200.00

@oneoldsap ; that's exactly what I was thinking. That was a lesson learned right there, never order something online before visiting your lgs, because, invariably, you will find a better deal there than you got online.

I put DNZ Reaper low mounts on my Savage 7 Mag with a Nikon Prostaff 3x9x40. I really liked the mounts. The only snag was the magnification dial was barely touching the base. I filed a little off for clearance and everything worked out. I like the scope mounted as low as possible and didn't want to go taller.

I don't think that Redfield is going to bring you much.
You'd have to find a Leupold/Redfield worshipper to get more than $120.

Right, The Redfield is a decant scope for the money, but most used scopes won't even bring 1/2 the retail price of new. That is a $160 scope, so anything over $80 would be good. It might be possible to get a little more from someone who knows you and the scopes history. But a stranger buying an unknown scope from an unknown person probably won't go over $100.

4whln, I would say finding a better deal @ the lgs is the exception...not the rule.

Bought the scope today, decided to keep the leupold mounts. Didn't get to sight the scope in because I left the rifle there to get the trigger adjusted.(It was set at 6.5lb; apparently the previous owner liked the feel of a shotgun trigger:D)
