I was reading "live from the stand" by peetza just before i shot her

Got her withmy K31! Used Norma softpoints
Did not see too much expansion and no trail to speak of
though she ran about 50 yards
Just glad I found her, while looking/tracking my brother and I killed a rattlesnake
Dont see them as often as cottonmouths and copperheads
, hunt in Hancock county

Yeah I think 80-90 is about right
I think she's too big for a 7month old...I have seen a few tiny ones that couldnt have been over 60 lbs but that was bow season and didn't want to just take one because there wasnt hardly any meat on the tiny ones
I picked this one up and Definitely not over 90-95lbs

You got that right! Last year I had this tiny, tiNY, TINY little doe come by. I wasn't going to shoot her but she stood there perfectly broadside at 10 yards for like 15 minutes. Finally I decided what the heck? I'm hunting "Earn a Buck" and any size doe counts so, why not? ....

Yeah.... she was 47 pounds field dressed and yielded 18 pounds of meat!:o

Thanks you everyone for the comments, not sure what kind of consensus we have for the weight haha but I like hearing what people have to say :cool:

I will keep the pics and excitement coming as i hunt for the next three weekends I am aiming for a doe or two more and a buck (live in QDM.... has to be 4 points or better on one side)

Heres one of my hunting buddy's buck:
Not as big as the one I took last season but its meat with a cool rack on top
He was really excited its been a looong time since he got a buck, hit with .270 and didnt take a step further

Im excited too, look at the short face on this buck! He seems young and was following a bigger buck, this young buck has/had a lot of potential, I guess we have some good genes running around

Ill see if I can find one of my last year's buck which was a big 8

IMO, you won't.

Sometimes to the contrary of scaring deer with leaving the innards, I've killed and dressed deer that have dropped close to my stand only to have other deer come out to the gutpile, sniff around and start browse feeding right around the pile. Almost as though the gutpile was an attractant.

Folks can have any opinion they want...

But around here, I will not hunt where I dropped guts for a couple days... I do not think the deer are spooked by offal but I do know the yotes are the apex scavenger in these parts... deer don't hang with dogs givin' other options...

I've seen deer eating corn out of the paunch in a gutpile.....

I had a buck and doe and 2 coyotes all in the scope at the same time....... they were watching each other...... I took the doe.
