If this subject has been covered before, don't get bent out of shape, please.
How does the 26 compare with the reliability of the Model 17? Can you use 17 round mags in a Model 26?. I am thinking of buying a 26. FS

I don't see why there would be a reliability issue. Glock 17 mags fit, but stick out 1.5 inches or so. There are magazine sleeves you can buy that fill in the gap between a Glock 17 mag and the Glock 26 grip.

Any 9mm Glock mags fit the G26 including the 33 rounders. Reliability is typical Glock and some people even feel they shoot the G26 better than a G19.

I was speaking about reliability in terms of the smaller frame vs. a larger frame of the same gun. Not necessarily about which mag is used.

Reliability is great. Just as good as the G17.

I have both, and my G26 is every bit as reliable as the G17. They've both been 100%, and just for the record that is with 17rd and 33rd mags also. If I had to choose one, I'd keep the G26.

I am sure the 26 will wear out a bit quicker than the 17, because of the recoil spring. But how many people are going to be shooting 10,000~30,000 rounds through a G26 small compact gun? ;)

Yes, G17 G19 G26 magazines fit in the G26, also those 33 round magazines as well.

Best part, is most parts are changeable with each other and so are the magazines.

My G26 is perfectly reliable, and I find it to be a lot of fun to shoot. Typically, I carry it with a 10 or 12 round mag, with a 15 round G15 mag for a reload.

I have the 26 for my truck gun & it has never missed a lick. I have big hands, so I did put the Pearce exts. on the mags. The guns are almost indestuctable!

I've had a Gen4 26 for about a little over a year (I got one of the first ones) and it's been 100% reliable through about 500 rounds. It takes both my G17, and G19 mags.

Thanks guys for the imput, I always check before I buy esp. with small-type autos, I don't want another Kel-Tec experience. No disrespect to Kel-Tec, I have a .380 that works great, but the last couple of 9mm's were a problems and had to go back to the shop numerous times. I really don't want the hassle, I needs something that works out of the box.

The G26 is as realiable as any Glock, which is to say that it's one of the most reliable autoloaders ever.

I've owned quite a few Glocks but the G26 is my all time favorite.

I have owned several Glocks and shot a good number but right now the only one I own is a 26 and it would take a lot of money to get it out of my hands.
My only problem with the gun is with the standard magazine I find the gun uncomfortable and I have a time controlling second shots. That’s why I have the magazine extension added.
My 26 is at +3000 rounds with 0 failures of any kind. Reliability is what I feel is its strongest point.

I think I am going to go with the Glock, thanks to all of you

I owned a G26 from their introduction until about three years ago. Never once had a stoppage of any kind.

But, I discovered that using G19, 17 or 33 round mags allowed front to back movement of the magazine, thus causing changes in the feeding angle. I was able to deliberately induce stoppages with my G26 by putting either forward or rearward pressure on the extended magazine. Don't remember which.

Glock 26 is extremely reliable. Only stoppages I have had in 5K rounds have been ammo related and a couple of limp-wristed rounds by my daughter (who, by the way, fixed the problem as soon as I explained it). No mechanical failures attributable to the pistol.

As others have said, the G26 will handle any mag. I have heard others make the comment that wiggling a longer mag fore and aft can cause feeding problems, which makes sense, but I only use 10- and 12-round mags, and have not had any firsthand experience in that regard.

I would buy another G26 a hot minute if anything happened to mine.

That's my favorite Glock ever made. I used 19 mags for backups.

I had one that was great but got rid of it in a trade. This was a few years ago. I started looking for a small 9mm. To make a long story short I got another G-26. Ya just can't top them for reliability. :)

By putting pressure on the 33rd mags, I could also cause reliability issuses. Would not reccomend that configuration for home defense. Perefectly reliable with factory 10rd mags, prefer the pinky extender for gripping.
