Picked up a 20 gauge Mossberg 501 for the grandkids to get started on. Actually took the kids to several places in order to get them properly fitted. We tried a number of different brands of youth shotguns but this one fit them best. I think Mossberg hit a home run with this Bantam model. Since we'll be using it for deer and pheasants, it was nice to find the receiver drilled & tapped for scope mounts and offering choke tubes.

Here's a pic along side a standard adult sized 870......

How is the recoil on the Mosberg? How old are your grandkids that shoot the Mossberg? Looking for something for my soon to be 10 year old.

this is my son's youth model, a "Stoeger-Condor" in 20 gauge from Cabelas, he likes it and is almost ready for the full size "Mossberg 500" in 20 gauge.73498
