Tick Bite Supply (http://www.tickbitesupply.com/mos.html) has the slings (and dog collars). Other places probably do, as well.

Unless you bought an ex-sniper rifle, they didn't have scopes.

Most military surplus dealers online and off sell mosin slings, stripper clips, ammo pouches, tool, and cleaning kits. Google mosin nagant accessories and you're sure to find them. A local gun show is also usually a good place.

if in doubt... eBay it

matter of fact, ebay has bent bolt kits and military spec reciever scope mounts.

I bought my SKS for 174 in 2005 I remember a crap load for 100 dollars back then as well on gunsamerica but I figured the FFL transfer and shipping would of made it about 174 anyways... Mosins will eventually go up as well eventually all of the surplus ammo will dry up and surplus guns and they will just be in the hands of private citizens. Makes me want to buy a mosin... Only Big 5 has em for 100 dollars and guess what now they are 129 if any one knows of a good surplus rifle dealer in So Cal let me know.. Either that or its inflation which has been increasing drastically since 1913 but that is a whole other issue.

I picked up my 91/30 from my local gun range/store for about $150 out the door. As near as I can tell it's never been issued and came with all of accessories including bayonet. The Big 5 price of $130 is pretty standard. I have seen them at $99 but it was on sale marked down from the regular price.

I don't know about the supply and demand of the ammo. So far it hasn't been a problem finding bulk ammo and there are a couple companies that make 7.62x54 but the price is kind of steep.

I would love to find an original scope for mine but haven't done a real thorough search for yet. Right now it's iron sights at 100 yards and I'm starting to feel pretty good about it.

Enjoy your rifle. It is an experience unlike any other rifle I've every fires (most of my past shooting was done with either M16 or an Austrian 30.06 with scope).

What is a 1939 in 7.62x39?

A second point, and please do not take this the wrong way, but it will be much easier for others to read your posts, as well as take them seriously, if you use proper English. Use capital letters at the beginning of sentences, and make some attempt to spell words correctly. An is not the equal of and, prolly is not probably etc. Text speak is for texts, if then.

I have read that some Mosin-Nagants were rechambered (sleeved?) to 7.62x39mm.

That said, I've never seen one and it may be an internet myth.

If they exist, I'd think they'd bring a premium as the whole bolt face (and probably the magazine) would need reworked.

There are a few in .30-06, but these are dangerous to fire unless they are modern conversions. I've heard tell of some in 7.62 NATO, but couldn't tell you if there's any more truth to those than to the x39mm.

Because I didn't capitalize a letter I won't be taken seriously? An that 1939 is the date on the other rifle.

Does it make you feel all grown up when you correct someone?

I bought my 1954 Tula SKS for $89.00. I am still shocking at what they go for now.

The Mosin is a great gun, fun to shoot but I doubt it will increase in price the way the SKS did. It might, and I'd like to see it, but I wouldn't buy a Mosin as an investment gun.

Enjoy shooting yours.

I walked out of a gun show with a new Mosin for $110 even. The 10 dollars was the transfer fee so the gun retailed for $100. I redid the stock and have been shooting it ever since. Very fun firearm. I originally bought mine for a deer rifle but have been having trouble finding the old PU scopes for less than $200 bux. Guess ill keep looking at my local gun shows.

M44's are running up there in price pushing 150 to 200

M38's are at a premium because they are no longer imported and usually run over 200.

Mosins will never be expensive like an AK but 200 for a 91/30 in a few years wouldnt surprise me.

Oh boy you made a big mistake ............ you just can't have one you know :D. I think I have 8 or so and just want more. If you like the 91/30 take a look at the 91 it would make a nice addition and are a little more rare. Or better yet try and find a Remington or N.E.W.
