And some say it is every bit the equal (or the better) of the Baers, Wilsons, Browns.

The largest cartridge you can carry concealed is 45 caliber.
I wonder how many other states have the same restriction?

After owning all of the aforementioned and now a Guncrafter you can count me among those who say they are better except for Wilson Supergrades.

Any semi-custom 1911 with hand-loaded ammo is going to be about as accurate as you can get. I've had good luck with Hornady 230 gr and a variety of powders.
I think the most accurate for the money would be a Les Baer Premier II with the 1.5" @ 50 yard guarantee.

Almost any 1911 is more accurate than the hand that holds it. A shop I worked for used to have a Ransom Rest and whenever a customer would bring in a gun claiming it was inaccurate we would lock it into the rest and let them watch their "inaccurate" gun chew the center out of a bullseye. :D

I feel bad for the person who said that Ok won't allow concealed carry for anything bigger than a .45. I spent my younger adult years in Tennessee and Georgia and came to NH about 12 years ago. The .50GI is legal to carry in the 1911 variant up here. I have owned a Desert Eagle .50AE and carried it in a shoulder holster at the range. I find that as I get "older" I am better served with calibers I enjoy shooting... .357Sig, .38spl and .357mag, .40 S&W,.41 mag, .44mag/ spl., .45acp, .9mm and .380acp and practice so that I can place my shots as needed. Some rounds for me, like the 10mm, just make too much commotion and are harder to handle. Having said all that blather I have to admit I have been enamored of .45acp handguns since I was 12.
