bent spent cartridge ends

I have been shooting 230 grain fmj steel case Blazers in my 45.
It fires reliably but I noticed some of the spent steel casings have the leading edge with a small crimp in their leading edges.
Most of the ejected shells are thrown back to my rear at a 45 degree angle.
Do I have a problem or just keep shooting.
Can't say what brass casings do as I have not fired any lately

Blazers are typically low end ammo with low charge volumes.
Some times there is less "blow-back" / gas to operate the slide correctly and the edge of the casing hits the top of the ejection opening on the slide thus denting the case.
It all has to do with inertia.
This is the most common cause I have seen with Blazer ammo.

If your shootin a 1911 with a GI ejection port, it's normal. The only problem would be if you're reloading which I assume you are not since your using steel cased ammo.

Are you sure they're steel cased? The only Blazer ammo I have ever seen was either alum. or brass. It's hard to really tell without seeing your case's dents but the first thing I would look at on your gun is the extractor tension. It sounds like the extractor is hanging on to the case a little too long and the slide port is hitting it before it can get away.

Maybe the cases are alum.
I'll give the extractor and ejector a through cleaning and see what happens next time out--
