Just as the title says. My 5' 3" 125lb wife will be shooting this so I am looking for something to tame it down to 5.56 recoil and control muzzle rise. It will be going on a carbine length gun.

I have read alot on both, but and stuck.

The JP brake is one of the best ones on the market at taming recoil...

I have heard that the recoil eliminator is good, although it looks like an artillery brake. :) What about the standard compensator? Or is that the one you are talking about?

Get the JP Enterprises recoil eliminator. And double up on the hearing protection.

Getting a .308 AR down to .223 recoil level is a difficult undertaking. I've read good things about the JP but no first hand experience. I do have two pepper pot style that work well, that's the only style I have used.

Smith makes a pepper pot style brake.

Another pepper pot brake by VAIS.

Badger, Surefire and Tubb's are well regarded brakes.
