Thoughts about pistol grip for a REM 1100 Tactical?

The 18" TAC comes with a PG. I've only handled one in a local store but I didn't care for it. I've been a bird hunter and skeet shooter my entire life and much prefer the 1100's with a plain stock. I'm looking at the 20" TAC 4 or maybe just converting one of my 1100's to a TAC homebuilt seeing I've got a 20ga with a cut down plain 20"barrel for grouse hunting. Its a 1967 model with only @ 25,000 rds thru it. Its my favorite.

Aftermarket & Remington offer Pistol Grip Stocks with or without forearm.
Plus the new Pistol Grip Remingtons are great guns.

I have the 8+1 which makes it very long. I am indifferent about kind of grip except that to draw it from its scabbard on my back would seem easier with the pistol grip. Most of the after market (non-Remington) pistol grip kits i come across specifically state not for the 1100. They are all for the 870 or other pump guns. The Remington one is OK, I was fishing to see if any one had come across a PG for the 1100 that was a bit more entertaining, something like KNOXX.

So we know we're talking about the same thing (stocks can be confusing in their nomenclature): I suspect the OP is talking about a stock with a detached pistol grip (like an AR), not a pistol grip only stock. The Remington 1100 has an action spring in the stock that precludes the use of a 870-type pistol grip only stock.
