Additional info: I shoot approximately 1000 .45acp rounds a month with my full M&Ps & 1911s. I'm proficient with each of these weapons. Please don't turn this into a flame war.

I'd choose what you feel is most trustworthy. It MUST WORK every time! If you have a handgun that ALWAYS functions as expected I would choose IT and none other, even if it is a .32 Colt Cobra revolver!

Wow. It's all tied up at one apiece. We aren't being much help. :)

i voted for the mp9c, but i did it before i read your actual post. I would stick with whatever you are consistent with. If you shoot a lot of .45, then you are comfortable with it. I prefer carrying 9mm+p rounds because i shoot them well and am fast and accurate because of lighter felt recoil. I love the .45 round but i prefer only shooting .45 out of steel framed weapons

Which are you most accurate with? Which are you quickest with? Which do like to carry the most?

(I'm biased to 1911s, but I don't have experience with the M&Pc versions.)

1911. Done. I'm that confident in a 1911. Most of the time that is what I carry.

My speed and accuracy is equal across the board. Both .45s tend to find their way into my range bag.

I voted for the 9c for the additional firepower and less recoil.

Since you said you shoot it and the 1911 CCO about equally, and you didn't say you preferred either, or that either was more or less reliable than the other.

That being the case, the M&P may be simpler to operate (don't know if you have a thumb safety on it or not), is somewhat lighter, and holds more rounds.

I'd have had no trouble recommending the 9mm or the .40, if you shot those better and/or more often, but since you don't...

If you have the same level of proficiency with all the listed pistols, and have the same level of comfort carrying any of them.......I would go with the Officers 1911......but I may be biased since that is essentially what I carry.

Tried a MP9c and I enjoyed it to the point that I'm thinking of replacing my Spinger Compct (a CCO set-up). Since I got the Springer in June I've really enjoyed it so I voted that way. Let us know how it turns out.

I voted for the M&P45c. I have a Officer Mod 1911 and its a little heavy to carry all the time. My PF-9 is my daily carry so the 9mm is covered. A light 45 would fill the bill for me and the M&P45c is small, light weight and very reliable.

Another vote for the 9c due to greater capacity, faster followup shots and cheaper practice ammo (cheaper ammo = more practice = better shot placement). JMHO...

I greatly appreciate everyone's input. I may keep the 9c and CCO. It won't be long before my daughter starts shooting USPSA and I'll be reloading 9mm in the same quantity as .45.
