So I got this new Beretta Neos, and I was wondering about dry firing. Before everyone starts screaming about never dry firing a rimfire, hear me out.

1) In the manual it instructs you to dry fire the gun rather than store it cocked.
2) I took these pics of the barrel/chamber and the firing pin. I am holding the pin in place as far forward as it will go, but notice that it does not go far enough to strike the breech face when fired. So dry firing it should be fine, right?

Big pictures!!! If the directions say to dry fire it, then I'm sure it is OK to dry fire it. I've had to dry fire my wife's Browning Buck Mark with no ill effects.

I had a Neos and I always dry fired it after a shooting session, before I put it away. I had no problems with the gun.

make sure your neos has been repaired and you have the new firing pin - beretta issued recall in september 2010 for neos 22 cal autos... check their site for info :eek:
