Currently i cc a 40 cal.I also have a 9mm that i can carry if the 40 goes down.
I want to get a 45 but cc'ing one might be an issue due to size.

My handguns were purchased prior to any consideration of applying for a CCW permit, so until my budget allows for me to upgrade, I carry the gun that's already in my collection that's the most comfortable and easiest to conceal .... my Bersa Thunder.

As in I'd carry the .38spl 9x19mm aka; 9mm the .357sig the .327Federal and the old warhorse; .45acp. ;)

My top pick would be the .357sig if I could only choose 1 round but IMO smart CC uses can involve a few picks: .38spl, .357mag, .44spl, .40 etc.

.22 Mag was what I had when I took my CCW class, later moved on up to .40 S&W

I carry either 40s&w or 357sig... Plus .380acp.

I carry a Glock 27 with either a 40s&w barrel or a 357sig barrel. It just depends on how I feel that day. I always keep a Taurus TCP (.380acp) in my front pocket as a mouse gun.

In the summer, I mostly carry a .380. In the winter, it's a toss up between my S&W 637 snubnose or my Springfield TRP in .45 ACP.

But didn't this come out like we expected? .45ACP, .40 S&W, 9mm, & .36 Spl. are the high numbers......just what I expected.

Depending on my mood and the weather, its either a '72 Hi-Power in 9mm, a 4" GP100 with .38's or .357's, or a 3" 1911 in .45 Auto.

I checked three, 9mm in my Kahr PM9 about 8 months of the year; .45 ACP in my Kimber the rest of the time ... and .22 mag in my NAA Pug for dogwalking in my neighborhood, mainly for fending off the odd skunk or other bit of wildlife ...

9mm, IMHO opinion, is the perfect power-size compromise for the concealed carry firearm.

In warmer months, its mainly .38 Special (S&W M36) or .357 Magnum (S&W M66). In colder weather I add a bit of variety with .357 Magnum (S&W M28), .44 Magnum (S&W 629), 9mm (CZ-75), and 10mm (S&W 1076). I also own handguns in .22 Long Rifle, .32 ACP, 7.62x25, and .45 ACP but they are rarely carried.

It appears that people are inputting that they carry multiple carry guns, and selecting a couple different calibers.

Therefore when the calculations are being performed, it is saying like 50% of the 'people' indicate that they carry a 9mm, and that would be a correct statement if multiple responses are indeed allowed.

I voted 38 special cause I always have it, but also 9 mm, 357, and 45 ACP. All will do the job if you do yours.

I am not surprised to see .380 ACP on the upsurge, considering the raft of new little pistols in that caliber over the last few years. I have to admit, though, that I am a little taken aback to see it has overtaken .38 Special in this poll.

I was dedicated to a Cz82 until i bought a S&W 4553,it's a throw back to my Army days, i always come back to a .45

I voted .45acp (~90% of the time). 10mm in "test mode" (once I get it working right, that may increase), 9mm or .380 a few days per year.
"Other" the remaining 8%...either .41 Mag or .45LC.

I voted for several because there is no single answer that is accurate for me. I carry the following:

-.32 H&R Magnum, S&W 432PD, 100 grain Georgia Arms JHP

-9x19mm, S&W 3953, 124 grain Gold Dot (+P)

-.357 Magnum, Ruger SP101 DAO, 158 grain Gold Dot Magnum

-.45 ACP, S&W 4553 TSW or 4586 TSW, 230 grain Ranger T JHP

The 432PD is my on and off-duty BUG, the SP101 is my usual carry gun and my back and forth to work gun (my duty gun stays in my locker at work as I never carry it off-duty), the 3953, 4553, and 4586 are for when I feel like carrying an automatic. I'm mostly a revolver guy, but I do like a nice auto too. One will note that all my carry guns, auto or revolver, are DAO.

As soon as either S&W or Ruger comes out with a lightweight revolver (Airweight/Airlite or LCR) chambered in .327 Federal Magnum I will move to one of those for my BUG. I like .32 caliber revolvers and I've been considering getting a SP101 in .327 for carry, but I'd like a 2 1/4" DAO version without the goofy white outline rear site, so I expect I'll wait and see if such an animal appears.
