This morning i picked up a S&W M&P 9 Pro. Very nice. The trigger is very smooth and breaks crisply. The reset is short but faint. I do like the reset. Once i get used to it follow ups will be easy. At his point i see no reason to add an Apex sear or tweak anything. I ran 100 115 gr FMJ WWB. Due to time i only had a chance to shoot 7.5 yards. Grouped nicely, but at 7.5 yards it didn't tell me much. I like the long slide smooth action for follow ups. All mags fed, all ammo went bang and they all hit black. With practice i should be very happy with it. Hell i am already very happy with it.

The only thing, not really a negative just different, that i am not used to is my other guns all shoots 6 o'clock hold. This M&P shoots centered POA or even low. Is this normal with other M&P's?

Now i need a nice kydex holster. Advice anyone. It will be for 3 gun only.

Very normal for the Pro. With mine I just drive the dot.

Bladetech makes a couple of good holsters for the Pro.

I found a Bladetech DOH in stock at Shooters Connection (http://shootersconnectionstore.com/Blade-Tech-DOHSting-Ray-Holster-Right-Hand-P114.aspx) It will be here thursday in time for my saturday 3 gun. I will use this for USPSA, if i try IDPA, i will get the paddle and switch it out.

I have used the pro (with wwb) for IDPA for about two years. I have a green fiber optic front sight which really helps my old eyes see well. The gun shoots exceptionally accurately--I am often the most accurate shooter in my competitions despite only being able to rarely shoot in competition nowadays and never practice. So I would say that the gun will do just fine for you, assuming it is shooting straight from the factory. I hold it poa and it hits poa if I am doing my job. I use a bladetech holster as well.

How do you use the sights on you M&P Pro?
I traditionally used option 1. Option 1 shoots 4 inches low at 15 yards. Option 2 shoots 1-2 inches low at 15 yards. Option 3 shoots 2-4 inches high. This all using 115gr FMJ WWB.

I've found that my Pro is the same, but I quickly got used to it. I also use mine with a comp-tac holster. Simple and awesome.

The Pro I used to have had an excellent trigger job from Accurate Iron. It is almost 1911 like. Mike does amazing trigger work on the M&P and he can stipple the grips too.

I also switched out the sights for a set of dawson fiber front and a dawson adjustable rear. That way I could adjust POI as I saw fit.

I have about 6 bladetech DOH holsters. The new DOH device and tek lok mechanisms are even better than the old stuff that was already awesome. If you buy direct form them it may take a week or two to receive because they usually build to order but you will get the newest attachments. Bladetech has excellent customer service too. My Mastiff puppy beat me to my S&W 625 holster and chewed it up completley. I called Bladetech and told them exactly what had happened and ask if they would be willing to give me a discount. The helpful woman that answered the phone asked me to hold and then came back on the line and told me that they woudl ship me a new holster and all I had to pay was shipping. Awesome! They are having a labor day sale right now too. Bladetech DOH (http://www.blade-tech.com/DOH-Dropped-Offset-Holster-w-Tek-Lok-pr-1032.html)

You need a set of these adjustment screws from 3 gun stuff too. Especially for 3 gun. 3 Gun Stuff (http://www.3gunstuff.com/knobs.htm) They allow you to adjust the tension on your pistol which is really important when you are running full speed while holstered. Then you can turn aroudn quickly and loosen it up completely for when you gotta draw your pistol fast.

Shooting on sandbags my M&P9c shoots option #2 every time.

I have found that a loose grip with option 2 shoots about 4-6" low while a very tight grip shoots about 1-2" low. I still need to get out and shoot it a bit more :)
