I have a Sig P238 that I got this week and will be shooting this weekend. Thing is the follower on the magazine is unlike any other I have seen pictures of.

It does not have hump up front, is flat on top and has a dimple in the follower. All other seem to have some bump up front and rounded all the way back with no dimple.

The build date is May, 22 2010 so its a fairly recent model and I'm wondering if I have the newest type of magazine.

ETA: It is a factory Sig mag and is a brand new gun.

Here are some pictures of the magazine.....

Thanks for the reply. With the dimple it seems like it will help with the last round like original 1911 magazines. The follower looks also to be designed not to dip forward into the feed ramp which is another plus. I've cycled snap caps about 50 times through this thing without any problems. I'm hoping to get the same results at the range.

be sure to post up on your range experiences. mine was a little tempermental over the 1st couple hundred rounds and why i called sig. its been fine since i called them of course  but i still look forward to putting in the stronger spring and new mag.

mine loves powrball ammo and federal FMJs so ive got every other one in each of the 2 mags i have now for carry (penetration talks on forums had me do that haha).

I just picked one up last Saturday. Mine has the mag with sort of a bump, and no dimple. I fired 200 rounds of WWB through it earlier this week, and the only issues I had, were with the slide locking back on the first two shots. It seems since this is a SIG, it too does not like thumbs near its slide stop. :)

Once I corrected my grip, the remaining 198 rounds were fine, and I had no problems.

I did just get a spare mag (mine only came with one mag) from Top Gun Supply today, and it has the flat follower with the dimple, but I havent shot it yet, probably Friday.
