Man, that's great! It always warms my heart to read a post where a Pop buys his son/daughter a firearm- doesn't matter if the child is 5 or 50- it's still a great and admirable thing! Congrats to your son too!

nice picture.... what is it? Some of us are not so good at recognizing the thousand of black rifles out there.

Just to poke at you cwb, you didn't score 100% on this posting test.. :)

Now you need to buy us one!

Great scores there!! Great Sig 522 as well!!! I have one just about like it. Shoots great. Keep the chamber area clean and it will fire every time. I thinkg the chamber is a little tight and Federal bulk ammo is a little big at times and causes light firing pin strikes. Others have said they have had issues with Federal bulk 550 pack as well on other forums. Perhaps just keeping the chamber scrubbed after shooting with a brass brush.

No what you mean about no more kids. I have a daughter turning 36 on July 17th and my youngest daughter turned 16 this last March. Just when I though I was out of going to school programs... LOL

"Son let me show you how to shoot your rifle"
"No son, you're doing it wrong, give it here, and let me show you how it's done"

Wow- according to all the complaining and reports, the fcat is supposed to be pretty tough. Congrats to your son and to you for encouraging him. Sweet rifle, especially when you're in the 3rd grade. Yall have fun!

i must say this 522 eats every brand of ammo that i put in her. he wants me to put a scope on there, he said he does not care for the red dot

What's cool about that is with the Picatinny rail, your options are wide open.

There are some real decent Simmons scopes at www.cheaperthandirt.com and a 3x9 works very well. I have one mounted on my 6.8 SPC II Bison AR-15 upper I built.
