She went to some show where some reps from mfg had displayed guns to try a few yrs back. Small fee for a full clip to shoot and she picked one with a laser attachment and some sort of scope and shot at clay pigeons.
Unfortunately, she doesn't like the .38 and up cal.
I'm looking for a semi that probably has attachment capability for laser on the bottom and some sort of site on the top.

Walther P22 (http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?catalogId=13152&storeId=10002&categoryId=43804&langId=-1&parent_category_rn=43326&top_category=43326&training)

Sig Sauer Mosquito (http://www.sigsauer.com/Products/ShowCatalogProduct.aspx?categoryid=30)

I dunno if these are what you want but they have rails to attach stuff to.

Is it for concealed carry, just around the house, range use only, plinking, all purpose, or not sure?

Suggestions may vary.:)

My brother has one of these and it shoots really well. He has a red dot on it but I don't know if it will take a laser or not. Love shooting that 22lr.

I'd look into the Ruger target pistols in .22lr with a Crimson Trace lasergrip; www.crimsontrace.com . ;)

It is a proven well made design but not a carry or protection weapon.

The std Ruger .22 auto is a heck of a pistol. Not sure about any rails or other hardware, but......they are accurate, reliable, and fairly priced.

The fixed sight, 4" bbl model is an American classic!

The Walther is more fun than should be allowed by law. I've had a few 22 pistols including the Rugers and find it much more interesting to shoot if you just want a plinker.

One caveat, don't drop it. Lots of plastic parts. I speak from experience!:p

I bought the girlfriend a Ruger MkII Target. I liked it so well I had to get my own. Hers was off limits to me. I also have a Browning Buckmark Camper that has been an excellent shooter. Many more choices out there.

Of all the .22's I've ever owned (and that's a lot!), the Browning Buckmark is my favorite. You can buy them with a rail on top, and there are adapters to attach a laser to the bottom of any barrel.

I own a P-22 and while I like it, it's just not up to the same standard - but then it costs a lot less...

Take her to the gun store. Let her pick out one for herself.

That way you don't have to listen to "This gun YOU picked out for me..."

If she winds up liking the Walther P22, try talking her into getting the PK380 instead. Size wise, it's almost identical to the P22 and recoil is really minimal with the PK380.

One of the Browning Buckmark's would be a good choice in my mind ....lots of options ...

Give her a gift certificate for $ 750 ...and let her pick out her own ...and some ammo, etc .... let her have some fun with it / make her own choice.
