Any Colt is a good Colt to own, but a Series 70 1911 is a hellava snag. Good job and a great price. Not sure if those rear sights are original??

I don't say this often about pistols, but that's a d*mn fine gun for $605 - a 70 no less - It's a "real" 1911 :D

Don't be surprise that no one outbid you. I've been finding that too. The economy is still weak. Lots of good deals out there if you have the spare change.

Wow, that's a crazy good price. I am truly green from envy. What I wouldn't give for a nice 1911 ...

One can find good deals on Gunbroker, with a little luck and persistence.

I got one of my two deluxe Beretta A390 shotguns on gunbroker.com. I only paid $575 for the gun, a ridiculously low figure. The gun is highly engraved, has gold inlays, beautifully jeweled bolt and follower, and the most handsome wood stock with gorgeous figure in it.

The original owner had won the shotgun with a raffle ticket at a Ducks Unlimited banquet. The gun was never used, never fired. I received it in like new condition.

New Beretta shotguns are no where near as fancy and gorgeous as this gun is.

Want to get a great buy on a firearm? Look for used "Safe Queens" like this gun. There is a surprising number of folks that buy a fine firearm, and then never even use it. The gun spends its entire life in a gun safe, until it is eventually sold.

My gosh LanceOregon you got a steal. Beautiful shotgun.

The funny thing is that I already had one of these shotguns. So I knew what a fantastic firearm they are.

When I saw this shotgun listed for only $500, I could not resist bidding, as the price was so very low. And I ended up getting it for only $575

Here is the shotgun together with my other Beretta Deluxe A390. It is on the top, and my other one is below it.

The bottom line is that if one is patient and persistent, one can sometimes find some really great buys. A little luck can help too, though, I must admit.

He won the 2 guns and I promptly offered him $600 for the 12.;) He said, "really?" and I said sure. He later found out what they were worth, came back and called me a SOB.:D It just sounds like him to have never used them only to let them go now for even less than he could have gotten for at least one way back then. Hey, it was worth a shot.:D

I think you got a very good price on a fine gun.
