I have edited this picture because it had me with my finger on the trigger. I'm not saying that I think its wrong but I simply don't want anyone to have any problems with a picture that I post. Here is the new picture and I think it looks better.

My first handgun was a M&P .45 fs. I got into CCW and owned Bersa's, Glock's, Berretta's, Ruger and Sig. After all those I end up right back where I started. I rescued a M&P 40c a few days ago, brought it home where it belonged and I am in love with it.

The M&P pistol is the sole reason for the new Gen 4 Glock's. Over 500 Police and Special forces has elected to go with the M&P, 300 of those replaced Glock's for the M&P.

Perfect size and features:

Went to the range a few days ago, the weather was just awesome.

I had to walk the last half mile, because the snow was to deep for my car. When I arrived my hands were already frozen but I decided to suck it up and put the 150+ rounds I came for down range. Loading a steal mag with cold bullets, well...it just down right sucks.

Managed to fire off all the rounds I had with me, not one failure of any kind my M&P was made in Jan of this year with a spent round date of 1-13-2010. It has a darker slide and the new rear site and wider slide lock.

I forgot to take my camera but I did have my cell phone...did not turn out to bad. Click on the picture below to see a Video.

Sexy.

Not too be 'one of those guys', but some people will flame you hard for this ... I assume that the gun is not loaded in the first picture, and that you've verified this, but you may want to keep your finger off the trigger unless you're planning to shoot something.

I'm Glad what you got out of all that hard work I did on that review is to think you have to school me on handguns. I always know the condition of my handguns and I don't pick one up without a Safety check. To say you should always keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to fire a handgun is true esp when you know its loaded. I guess you have never dry fired a pistol or used snap caps or tested the point where your trigger breaks to fire. when I dry fire a pistol or check work I have done on a trigger, I not only have my finger on the trigger I also...Get Ready for this!!! I also pull the Trigger:eek: And sometimes if I take a Picture of a handgun..I just might stick my finger on the trigger. I'm not going to take a pre-picture of me safety checking a hangun before i show the real picture. you must have not watched the youtube video link in the post.

Nice write up. I'm sure S&W would be happy. :)

As for the trigger finger discipline, I think that FGF was tactful, fair and respectful in his criticism of that particular picture. I'm not attacking you or your pistol handling skills either, just pointing out that there is a valid reason why it is finger-on-trigger pics are discouraged - this is the internet and very many viewers will not possess your level of competency with handguns. Pretty simple concept, and while you've listed some real circumstances in which the finger is on the trigger while not shooting an actual target, none of those apply to photography.

Again, nice report and thanks for sharing.

My only problem with your video is I was hopping to see you search for your brass:)

I'll have to watch teh review - I'm intrigued by the M&P, and would seriously consider getting one were it not for the trigger safety thing (I hate those, as well as plastic triggers). M&Ps do feel pretty nice to hold though, I must admit.
I might as well chime in on the finger-off-the trigger issue too, as I feel that is what this whole thread will degenerate into.
It doesn't bother me at all. Looks more natural than finger outside the trigger guard. More power to ya.
Have fun with the new toy!

Glock with a manual safety. :D
I like safeties, and don't give me that oh you will forget to disengage in pressure situation. No I won't I practice as if it were there even when I shoot the Walther PPS which doesn't have one, I manual disengage the imaginary safety. ;) Now I do love my 1911s as you might guess, but have one of each type, including Beretta and feel comfortable with them all. I wont, however buy a Glock, something just feels inherently unsafe about that sucker.
It don't belong on my hip. I know it sounds irrational, so be it; but that's just me, I rather never have to regret anything.

Congrats on your new pistol! I have a M&P9c and love it.

Since you mentioned you have done trigger work on pistols ... this may be of interest to you. I installed an Apex sear on my pistol and it really improved the trigger. I'm NOT associated with the company ... I found the info posted on the M&P forum and it has become a very popular and inexpensive mod.

My trigger breaks just under 4 lbs.

Good work, AutoGeek. You have me intrigued with the 9C now as well.

I have held the full sized models, and they are very comfortable. I can't quite tell the scale of this pistol though. It looks like you got your pinky on to the grip pretty easily. Strange question, but how big are your hands?

Thanks for your efforts here.

I have changed the first picture in the original Post. I don't want anyone having a problem with any picture that I post in a Forum. Thank you for your comments on the thread.
