I have an older Compact CDP and am wondering what the differences are with the newer Compact CDP II. If anyone can give me a little info I'd appreciate it, Thanks

Older one is much better. No firing pin block and better QC.

In my opinion Kimber's implementation of the firing pin block safety is under engineered. They rely on a scrawny pin that they don't trust enough to fully cover under warranty. I own a Compact CDP II because it's our only choice in the PRK but if I lived in a free state I'd have gone with a S&W SW1911ES instead.

No problem. FWIW, a Series II can be a good weapon too - mine was. But future Kimbers for me will be only pre-II's.

I purchased a Compact CDPII last March. Great Pistol.
