my grandsonson is old enough for his first centerfire rifle, and he is sure that the one he wants is a Rossi 22-250 youth model.I don't have any info on them and tried to steer him toward the H&R rifles but he is sure that the Rossi is the better gun any and all info will be greatly appreciated

If you are talking about the rossis that are the youth ones that you can change the barrels out for different calibers, those are pretty neat little guns. I like these because you can have a 20g and then a minute later it's a .243 and then a .22 all in the same day. :D

H&R is MUCH better... tell him about the barrel exchange program and he can get aftermarket adult stocks for when he gets older

H&R has a wider variety of things

A friend has one in 20ga/243. Rifle barrel is really rough inside, and shoots awful! You'd be lucky to hit the side of a barn if you were inside it!

I'd really try for the NEF combo.

I would have to advise against a Rossi. I bought one in .308 a couple years ago and it is horrible. I've tried different bullet weights and powder charges in my reloads and it still can't hit an empty pop can reliably at 50yds.

In my humble opinion , everything Rossi makes is JUNK ! Those youth guns have plastic sights on them for Christs sake . Their revolvers feel like they are full of gravel . Let's keep our money stateside and not buy imported JUNK .

ive shot a rossi, and h&r(.243) back to back, the h&r wins hands down. its much smoother. you had to smack the top of the rossi barrel to get it open.
