View Full Version : Way to identify Glock triggers?

I recently traded my Glock 19OD for a government trade-in Glock 21. This one is still in like new condition and has every option you can get on a Glock without getting a compensated model (extended controls and night sights). The trigger on this feels much heavier than the Glock 19 it replaced. I suspect it is possible it has the heavier (NY?) trigger. Is there some sort of identifier on the trigger mechanism which would identify it as being either the standard unit or the increased weight trigger?

If you have an NY spring installed you will be able to tell by comparing it with the picture below. The NY1 spring is olive colored (as in the picture) and the NY2 spring is orange but has the same shape.

Alternatively you may have a "+" connector installed which is a bit harder to identify. The arrow in the picture below points to the connector where the identifying mark will be. It will either have a "-" as in the picture, no marking--which indicates a standard connector, or a "+" which would indicate extra pull-weight connector.

Yep, it definitely has the + on the connector. How hard is it to replace that part?

David, replacing the connector is a five-minute job. There are instructions on Glockmeister's website regarding the disassembling of a Glock lower. A Glock is a pretty simple machine. There aren't any small parts, like with a Swiss watch, that will jump out at you and defy you to put them back in the right place.
