Hello all--

I have a question for those of you who have carried Crossbreed Supertuck holsters. Before we start, here is some background info: I am trying to decide between purchasing a Springfield Loaded 1911 and an XD45 Compact (shorty grip/magazines). Right now it has become a choice of concealed carry with the Crossbreed Supertuck. This is the holster I am going with and is the main deciding factor. What I don't want is a debate about whether to buy a 1911 or XD. I have another 1911 at the moment, and I've carried a friends XD45 in his Crosstuck for a few days and find it very comfortable--so that point is moot. Obviously the 1911 is thinner but longer, and weight isn't an issue.

I like the SA Loaded, and I would much rather buy that for carry if it can be done comfortably in a Supertuck. If it is too big to go IWB comfortably I will pick up the XD. Price/features/1911 vs. polymer/blah, blah, blah isn't the issue here. If you have carried a full sized 1911 in a crossbreed sound off and let me know what you think. Even better, if you have done both that would be great too. Thanks in advance for looking and posting; have a good one.

While I have no experiance with the crossbreed...I do ccw iwb. I am using a Milt Sparks SS II for my SA Champion. Very comfortable.

The Champion is full size grip w/4" barrel. I know I'd have no issue with a full size going iwb.

Yes on occation I know my grip does print some. I really am not conerned about minor printing occationally.

I do think that I will take a good look at the crossbreed when I need/want another holster.

I am a Tom Grisham fan. I watch his tv shows & listen to his Gun Talk radio show. Tom has nothing but good things to say about the crossbreed supertuck deluxe. The same is true for Milt Sparks Summer Special II. I trusted his opinion & bought the SS II & could not be happier. I'm sure I'd feel the same if I'd have gotten the supertuck deluxe.

Hope this has helped at least in some small way.

i have carried a 5" 1911 iwb before and it can print depending on attire, but it is definitely doable.

For a CCW, i personally will not sacrifice grip for concealability. If i cant get a good grip on the gun, fast, whats the good in carrying it. And with the XD grip extensions it really makes the grip print bad. My GF carried a SC XD9 for awhile and always had to use the flush mag when carrying because it would show through anything.

Out of your options, i would definitely go with the Loaded, but i do think there are a few better options out there as well. The Glock 36 would be one, it has 1 round less than the 1911 but is slimmer than double stack glocks and conceals much easier and you can also get a good grip on the gun quickly.

The crossbreed is a great holster as well as the comp-tac mtac which is equally popular if not more so. I think if you offered us some more info as to what your requirements for a carry gun were and price range we could offer up some more options

My mains are very similar to yours and your questions at hand.
My main carrys are a PT1911 full sized and a Taurus PT745 micro.
I also have a Kholster which is a copy of the Supertuck, and is made for my PT745.
If i need a tucked shirt i use the Kholster and 745,but rarely do i use it anymore as im finding it somewhat bulky.
I much rather carry my 745 in a Galco Stow-n-go with a modified clip.
Ive thought about getting a Kholster for my PT1911 but i feel the gun is so large its better off in the smallest holster i can do the job with.
I made a very small Kydex holster and when worn at 3:30 is almost impossible to see.

Im not making or selling those, but im sure many places online can make them.
Of course a SuperTuck should be upto the job,but many others can also as long as tucking isn't needed.
For long days with lots of movement i prefer my small micro.

If it comes down to just 1 gun which would be best 100% of the time i gotta say the XD would be a better choice.Id get both tho as i like a choice.
