I recently purchased a BL-22 Grade II from a private party. The engraving is gold. I know the Octagon model is supposed to have gold engraving but I can find no information anywhere as to why my Grade II has gold engraving and it is not Octagon. I can't find pictures or anything.

Just curious, any responses are appreciated.

Someone gold inlayed that, none of them came with gold in them.

Grade I does not have scroll work on them and are not checkered and have blued triggers.

Grade II was available in 3 different models.
The first is The BL-22 Grade II which has cut checkering on the forearm and grip and blued receiver with scroll engraving and a gold-colored trigger.

The second is the classic octagon barrel which has, cut checkering on forearm and grip, nitride receiver with scroll engraving and gold-colored trigger.

The third one has cut checkering on the forearm and grip, with a satin nickel finish receiver which is scroll engraved with a round blued barrel and a gold-colored trigger.
