I've now seen these scopes, Federal Intensity made by Weaver, in a couple places for what seems like a huge discount. I have several Weaver scopes now (newer) and they all seem to work pretty well, about as good as my Nikon Prostaffs. Does anyone have any information or experience with these models? I have actually previously gotten some killer deals at S/G on Redfield Widefield Scopes, so thought this could be a decent purchase for my CZ 527/.223.

I just bought a couple of Weaver Classic(s) from Midway. I've had good luck with only one "cheap" scope, Busnell Banner Trophy 1x4.

I own two Weaver K4s(4x38) and 3 Weaver V series, plus a 4x SG scope. They seem to be decent glass to me.

I think the Weaver line is a bit of Sportsman's Guide hype. ATK owns Federal, it owns Weaver and it owns Intensity. That doesn't mean that Weaver had anything to do with Intensity Optics and I wouldn't take it to mean that they do. Weaver's Classic and Grand Slam lines are made by one of Japan's premiere optics producers. As ATK's economy line I suspect that Intensity is made elsewhere.

An old thread (http://www.opticstalk.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=10736&PID=95054) on the subject from Optics Talk.
