My advice based on almost 50yrs of shooting is avoid the junk and pick up a decent scope. Starting with the basics I always avoid ATN, Barska, BSA, NcStar, and most Simmons and Tasco products. Second you'll want to go with a scope designed for a rimfire rifle and not a centerfire rifle.

The best bang for a quality scope is the Weaver RV7 (http://www.natchezss.com/Optics.cfm?contentID=productDetail&prodID=SN849431&prodTitle=Weaver%20Riflescopes%20Classic%20RV7%20Rimfire%20Scope%202.5%207x28mm%20Matte%20Dualplex%20Reticle). Reviews. (http://www.midwayusa.com/ProductReviews/?productnumber=734016) It's a good quality scope optimized for rimfire rifles. That's decent scope that will last you a lifetime. Another good option is a Sightron S1 3-9x32 rimfire (http://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct/?productnumber=147249).

I agree with scholling on the Weaver scope. They are a good value for the money, and 2-7X is just about perfect. I own several Leupold rimfire scopes in 2-7X, and I prefer that magnification range for close up to far away work.

Pilothunter posted this in another thread yesterday. If I were you, I'd jump on it:
One other scope, that's been mentioned here before causing me to purchase one, the very good Weaver 4X, reduced from $245.99 to $79.99. This is a 50yd parallax scope, just as most .22RF scopes. It is a great scope for a hunting .22. You'll have to call Natchez to ensure this correct price:

The scope IS in stock and will be sold for $79.99, I was just told.
