From Gunbroker, an add for a Taurus PT1911 in .38 Super:

They had several listed.

Still haven't found the 9mm yet

I think. I got on at Taurusarmed just now and found a thread where a guy was writing about the PT 1911B9 and then started writing about his Colt 9mm 1911. I may have gotten the two mixed up.

But Gunbroker definitely has more than one PT1911 in .38 Super for sale - so the 9mm is probably out there somewhere.

Indeed they are producing .38 super and 9mm variants now.

I have confirmed in a Taurus PDF that the .38 super is on the market for sale.

A guy who called Taurus about the 9mm version reported that they said it would be available 3rd quarter, and even more widely avalible at year-end.

May not be true.

Taurus said the same thing back in 07.

Something tells me that they diverted funds to producing guns in higher demand due to current circumstances. I would think from a business perspective, it would make more sense to produce firearms already in large production-and selling-than divert and develop other lines that may not have the same appeal. Like I said in another thread, although a 9mm 1911 has a following, the traditionalist would much rather have a 1911 chambered in .45...if nothing else, it just "sounds right."
